Welcome!

Hello! My name is Dr. Sunil Gadgil. I really hope that we can work together this year with weekly lessons! I can help you achieve your potential on the saxophone by guiding your learning. I want to help you gain the skills that will let you unleash your inner rock star!

I have been teaching saxophone lessons to middle- and high-school students throughout Central Texas since 2004. I work very hard at communicating information about music and the saxophone to my students in a differentiated way—figuring out how each of my students learn best and using those methods to help them achieve their true potential on the saxophone. In lessons, we work on fundamentals to raise the level of everything we do, repertoire to expand our knowledge of music for the saxophone, and duets to strengthen sight-reading, intonation, ensemble, and performance skills. Even though I come into each lesson with a plan, students are free to ask me to help them work on anything they wish—a piece they would like to perform at church, figuring out the notes to a song by their favorite band, or learning music theory skills that will help them write music of their own!

Most importantly—I use music to help myself and my students find and develop the most beautiful part of ourselves each day. I teach my students history, critical thinking, athletic development and body awareness, meditation, teamwork, language arts, and how to revel in the sheer joy of music-making. I help tomorrow's leaders develop their humanity, with the goal of making the world a better place.
